Dear Atlas,

It’s me, your Dad.

When I look at the dates on these notes, I realize that the time really is ticking down until you arrive. We’ve had you predicted to come as early as April 26 and as late as May 2. Your Mom seems to think you’ll be here on April 27 or 28. We’ll see.

At this point, your Mom and I are eager for you to arrive. There’s a part of me that secretly hopes you’ll be here after May 1, to be honest with you.

Atlas, I don’t know what the world will be like when you’re old enough to get your bearings. However, I hope things are in a good place.

As your Dad, I recognize a part of me that sincerely wants to bring you into a better world than the one I entered. However, when I look around, I don’t always have confidence that will be the case.

Violence, war, sickness, disease, corruption, and abuse are rampant throughout the world. Sometimes it feels more like walking down the Vegas strip than living on a peaceful planet.

However, I have to remember that all of us are here for a reason, purpose, and time. We chose to be here—I remember doing so. You, too, chose to be here.

And what a time for you to arrive . . .

You’ll see.

Love,

Dad
